Alastair began his career in the theatre working as a trainee stage manager, gaining experience in a variety of productions from repertory theatre and cabaret, to fashion shows, live television programmes and corporate events. Having spent several years working with the UK’s leading production companies and celebrities, Alastair became freelance. This saw him travel worldwide, specialising in production for the corporate market. In this time, he worked with BMW, Land Rover, Porsche, GSK and many others.
1990 saw the birth of 20/20 Productions. Along with Co-Director Andrew MacKay, Alastair has made 20/20 Productions one of the most dynamic and creative production agencies in the UK, with their client list containing many of the world’s leading blue-chip companies and organisations.
The company launched their US office in 2002 and quickly won contracts with major San Francisco organisations, most notably producing the United Nations anniversary celebrations in the city.
The team launched a third office in 2015 to service a growing client base in the Middle East. Their work for Exxon Mobil, Shell, DAMAC and GPCA has won plaudits in that time.
The company today is very different to the early days, and in turn will be very different in years to come. But at the heart of its ethos lies the roots of theatre, and the drama that is possible in storytelling – but in the corporate environment, and through a variety of media.
Alastair is also passionate about rugby, music and cycling, and can often be found in his garage mending or tweaking bike bits with a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee nearby – The sounds of Soul II Soul grooves thumping in the background.
